Been wanting to blog all week but my brain just keeps farting and I just come up with noob drafts. Anyway, behold, my mouth-watering friends – Takashi sparkles on the cover of Lala 9! It’s a very nice wispy cover! Kudos to Midorikawa Yuki! I’ve pierced together Lala 8 and Lala 9 together in the image below to show you lot that they’re actually connected!
How nice! Unfortunately, my scans don’t fit together and it’s a pain to stick so let your imagination run wild and free. Grandma Reiko and Grandson Takashi, you’re both connected through Lala covers, what a lovely sight. Alright, onto the news in this issue. News of celebration of Lala’s 35th Anniversary! Happy Birthday Lala! And with that, many of it’s participating manga artists have pretty illustrations which I’ve scanned and below. For more news also check out Omari’s Sister post on the issue! There is a scan on the blog about a special Lala issue called Kuro Lala so check it out here.
I think I overleveled everything in this post but anyway, lots of pretty illustrations! Alright-ey, here’s for the curious ones out there. I’m going to take the initiative to list down all the manga artists and the name of the manga that the illustrations belong to. Yes, give me a pat on the back. In numeric order.
Lala 35th Anniversary Illustration List:

Freebies!
Here’s an overview photo!
Pumping and advertising Ouran High School Host Club’s Live Action with stickers and an extra chapter in this issue of Lala. When you want to do something, do it all out.
Next freebie is a Natsume Yujincho drama CD. Yes, go all out.
Imagine all the work Midorikawa Yuki-sensei is doing, illustrating so many images for commercial purposes.
They are very nice! I forgot to scan the back of the package so here, settle with a photo instead.

My Lala 09/2011 highlights would be Ookami-heika no Hanayome, Last Game and Yashio to Mikumo. I think the gutters here are worse than my last round-up post! It was a bit of task to combine the pages since the scanner’s surface area is so menial. Please forgive me!

Natsume Yujincho by Midorikawa Yuki

Ouran High School Host Club by Hatori Bisco (Special Chapter)
It’s nice to see Ouran again, though I think the special chapter in Volume 18 finished off the entire series very well.
Centralising on Kasanoda and Mei, they make a very good couple. I would’ve liked them to dominate all the pages though + Haruji returning to Japan was way too quick. Let’s see how they develop in the next special chapter in Lala 10.
——-
Ookami-heika no Hanayome by Kauta Mato
My gosh, I find this series incredibly cute. It’s all because of our wolf-king here. He’s a real loyal charmer who knows how to step his foot down. I do like, I do like, very much.
Heroine blushed and every single page. It is without fail.
——
Oiran Girl by Hibiki Wataru
——–
Kaichou wa Maid-sama by Fujiwara Hiro
For y’all that got worried since Maid-sama wasn’t in the last issue, Fujiwara Hiro has come to save your soul with 50P of love.
Yes, I did purposely scan these two pages because I know some of you out there appreciate a Usui infused sight.
——-
Gakuen Babysitters by Tokeino Hari
I love how Tokeino Hari-sensei manages to feature all the characters found in the story together. It’s like everybody is participating which makes it so fun!
All of them have a unique trait as well so brownie points! This chapter was venturing into the fantasy-land again.
——–
Faster than a Kiss by Tanaka Meca
I don’t think this chapter contributes to the plot but it was fun. I want to see more of Shouma!
On the left side of the page below is an advert of Kuro Lala.
——
Vampire Knight by Hino Matsuri
——-
Chotto Edo Made by Tsuda Masami
————
Last Game by Amano Shinobu
The story I was highly anticipating for a month plus! Big fan of Amano Shinobu!
It’s a cliche story at first glance with the girl beating the guy in everything like a Kare Kano scenario except the roles have changed. It’s definitely fun and love looking at Amano Shinobu-sensei’s artwork. The first few pages hint a lot more deeper aspects though, so I’m greatly anticipating the next chapter.
——-
Suzu Mousu by Tohko Mizuno
——-
Toshokan Sensou: Love & War by Author: Arikawa Hiro and Artist: Yumi Kiiro
——
Yashio to Mikumo by Kusakawa Nari
Woohoo! More adventures with the cats!
Nice to see another festival themed chapter from a serialisation, its summer after all.

Chotto Edo Made’s art scares me. That bald guy’s eyes are WAY too shojo to be manly…
