Lala DX 07/2011~

Hello, peeps. Or peepz if you’re feeling rather excited, maybe even funky? I hope I bear a great post, for which I will now birth. And you, my dear friendoid, will be ready to receive. I was going to release this weekend’s one-shot post instead but heck, this post took me so long to conceive I’m going to release it now. Forgive me for all the references to pregnancy, I am not pregnant, someone telling me they’re buying dinner bears more joy for me. Jokes.

ANYWAY. Here we have the very exciting bi-monthly magazine, packed with awesome-ness-ness that is Lala DX 07/2011. The pleasure is yours. Hyuck, hyuck. There isn’t exactly any news that we haven’t heard of, just more emphasis on Natsume Yujincho and Hotarubi no Mori E.

Now, let’s go boogie, woogie, woogie down on why this issue is so special. First of all, my favourite shoujo manga(it’s kind of slipping dramatically off that title now though) – Akagami no Shirayuki-hime by Akizuki Sorata is featuring on the cover. And the freebie is a Akagami no Shirayuki-hime mini file! If you’re a HUGE AnS fan, I cannot emphasise just how much you will need this. The illustration is gorgeous and you know what? We have no idea when there’s going to be an AnS freebie again and this might even be the LAST. It is highly unlikely that there’s going to be some production of merchandise for us to buy since it isn’t on the ground of popularity with manga such as Ouran High School Host Club. The AnS fan club will need this to survive the winter, and the summer.

And since this freebie is so special, I offer thee, 5 scans of it. The first one below is a scan of the front, the original scan didn’t  have the vibrant colours as the real original so I gave it a touch-up and it came out BEAUTIFUL:

Next, you might not even notice the difference between the top and the scan at the bottom but the one below I’ve given it the blur treatment to remove the pattern detailing to produce a wonderful illustration.

Now this below is the back of the file. I didn’t edit this one or anything, it’s raw.

Now you’re probably wondering why I gave the back 3 variations. Well, I have a serious thing for illustration of couples who are facing their backs towards us and looking up at the night sky. So here, I darkened it to give it this beautiful gazing at the night sky effect. Just some light editing. Very pretty…Without their facial expression etc, it sort of makes it more special because as an audience, we have that luxury of imagining how happy they are. *brawling*

Here I went for gray-scale. And this concludes the scans of the freebie.

And finally, a photo of the real thing:

————

This is one HUGE list. You can imagine how long it took for me to upload all these. It seems that I’m improving the quality of these posts each time I post them. This time, I SCANNED the pages. It was actually EASIER than taking photos, I was thinking the opposite. Fail. I didn’t press down the magazine too hard though. That requires an abundance of energy and I felt like a sloth. There was this high school melancholy feeling going on with the last few one-shots, it was this feeling I got when I watched a movie like 5 Centimetres per Second or something…

Yashio to Mikumo  by Kusakawa Nari

I got Yashio to Mikumo Vol 2 recently, you might’ve known if you follow moi on twitter. Vol 3 is available on pre-order, I wish I could just get them both at once. Isn’t this the sexiest cover spread page ever?

I made a mild conclusion that this issue of Lala DX features many new ladies threatening the heroine’s position. Okay, to be fair there was only two.

——-

Harukanaru Jikuu no Naka de by Mizuno Tohko

Sorry, I just skipped this. All the time.

—–

Kaichou wa Maid-Sama! by Fujiwara Hiro (Extra)

——–

Akagami no Shirayukihime by Akizuki Sorata

Here’s where I get to sort of pull my thoughts out on AnS so far. I think it’s going down-hill. I loved it up to chapter 15-16? It was absolutely amazing then. I wanted the story to move onto a new arc but I wanted a nice peaceful continuation like them going travelling to different kingdoms and just enjoying their lives basically. Maybe a kidnap scenario would be good but I’m having a hard time following the story at the moment.

*SPOILER* There was a ‘sweet’ part in this chapter but I went meh. I should beat myself up for being disappointment. How dare I complain. The one thing that has definitely grown on me is Prince Raji. He’s growing to be really likable for me.

——

Koi dano Ai dano by Tsujita Ririko

I prefer Koi Dano Ai Dano over Tsujita Ririko’s new work in Monthly Lala :X Are you liking the angry dude below?

——

Present wa Shinju by Saitou Ken

HAHAHA.

If there was one cliche scene that always makes me laugh is the epic table flipping!

——

Mikado no Shihou by Nakano Emiko

——–

Uchi no Pochi no Iu Koto ni wa  by Tachibana Yutaka

—–

Mochi Mochi no Kamisama by Morio Masami

Omgosh, this series is growing on me. I need my copies of the collected volumes. The whole classic art element is getting my love and this chapter was great!

Honestly, when guys get jealous, girls think it’s cute. When girls get jealous. Oh my goodness, the polit-est way of putting the outcome would be – b*itches got their claws out.

Ao no Rhapsodia by Ogura Akane

This is probably one of the star stories in this issue. Love Ogura Akane’s art-work. Execution & plot-line. Very good.

Gorgeous.

—-

Shounen Dolls by Wataru Hibiki

Some nasty happens.

——

Momoyama Kyo–dai  by Fujitsuka Yuki

Now this was the other serialisation where a total nasty lady entered the scene.

The most annoying ones are those who look so innocent and ARE so innocent.

——-

Uchi de, Ocha demo.  by Yasuko Tsukioka

——-

Ojou-sama no Untenshu by Keiko Ishihara

Probably one of my favourites. I absolutely adore manga based in the Taisho Period. It’s like, East meets West.

I love this.

—-

Super Dekisokonai(fail) Hero by Shinmoto Shin

Shinmoto Shin is probably my favourite ‘new-comer’ in the magazine at the moment. The art-style is just wonderful.

It was a bit bland but I like it regardless!

——-

Mahoroba no Oji by Yajima Toji

A very nice romance abid cliche! Love the whole period/traditional theme going on! I give it all the ticks for romance.

—–

Happy Ending no Uragawa by Nogiri Yoko

Errr. Sort of skipped this one.

——–

Shitsuren Hiyori by Sakota Hirari

This one-shot gave this super realistic high school vibe.

——–

Koibumi Heart-beat by Nakamura Yuchiki

Cute, reminded me of another one-shot from Lala DX 03/2011 but I’ve forgotten which. Sorry, I think this is probably pointless blabbering. Brash looking characters can be quite cute.

——–

Oji to Hime to Watashi by Yamazaki Noizu

—–

Bokutachi no Oka no Ie by Makiyama Machi

Boy & spirit. I get drawn into sad stories. The art is really up my street too.

——

Kiminotonari. by Kayasu Aoi

There was so much narration going on giving this super melancholy vibe I got from 5 Centimetres per Second. It isn’t exactly a sad story, but it felt a bit personal? It was only 15 pages long.

——

Hoshi no Kage O Tadotte by Natsuno Kana

Another short one, again had that melancholy impact on me. Short story. Personal atmosphere going on.

———-

Ai Nori Bus by Kani Enika

Felt the same as above.
