Starry Sky – Sound Track (Japan Version) *UPDATED*

UPDATE: Several individuals have expressed interest in the Starry Sky Sound Track CD and since honeybee does not currently provide any track samples at the moment, I’ve decided to upload 3 songs’ samples and hopefully it’ll give you a taste of what to expect! Let’s all support Honeybee! Browse further in this post for the 3 song samples. I have uploaded them using SoudCloud and I’ve disabled the download option since this is copyrighted material.

Also, I’ve scanned the CD’s front & back cover as well as four pages for a little bit more quality.

“All the time I would I think of those precious days when the seasons came around.

All of us laughed,

with lots of love for you.”*

Hey ho! I’m so happy that my YesAsia order has finally arrived after 2 whole weeks as promised!

I tweeted this one on M.W's Twitter!

I bought two items in this order which is Starry Sky’s BGM Sound Track & the Gakuen Alice Illustration Fan-book. Of course, as the post title suggests, I will be posting a few snapshots of my Starry Sky lovely in this post & I’ll cover the Gakuen Alice book in a separate post since I often confuse myself in extremely long posts(plus I get to increase M.W’s post count by cheating like this). I won’t go into a large amount of detail, just a couple of bits and pieces that I think is worth sharing.

Oh yes, forgive me for some blurry photos, photography isn’t exactly my forte and I was quite excited!

Here are some general info:

Starry☆Sky Anime + Episodes 1-2

Welcome aboard everyone, now this is exciting, isn’t it, Eh?

This is my first ever anime review/opinion post, I’ve never written one before so I’ll attempt to convey my thoughts in the best way I can. Please take care of me~

I’ll be focusing on two episodes in each post on Starry Sky anime since each male character/love interest is explored through two episodes. I’ll also cover most of the general aspects of the anime in this post.

Genre: Slice of life, School life, Shoujo, Harem, Romance(this is included the genre but I’m not quite sure it fits)

Status: Currently airing, planned for 26 episodes, 11 minutes each episode

The heroine, Tsukiko, enrolled to a school that was recently changed from all-boys school to co-ed. Since the area where the school is conveniently rural and the rather exclusive curriculums the school has, up until now the heroine is the only one female who enrolled to the school.

In Starry Sky, the 12 constellations of the Zodiac are personified into handsome young men.

The anime will be directed by Kiyomo Sayaka. Adapted from the Starry Sky Otome Game series. The anime is in an episodic format.

Rated G – All Ages

When I got news that there was a to be an anime adaptation of Starry Sky I felt all warm & happy inside. However, at the same time, I pondered about the outcome, how could an otome game, filled with guys who all end up in love & married with the same woman possibly work. I had my doubts and there were certainly complications, but I still very much enjoyed the first 2 episodes, saying that, I have played the first part of the game, Starry Sky in Spring. Final Fantasy Type-O & Final Fantasy Versus XIII HD Trailers~

Final Fantasy Type-O & Final Fantasy Versus XIII HD trailers are finally released. They both look amazing and I’m so excited! Apparently, Final Fantasy Versus XIII is not going to see a 2011 release since Tetsuya Nomura is hoping to make it “incredible.” I’m sure that the wait will be worth it from what I see in the trailer. There have been leaks from Dengeki & Famitsu magazine which has more detailed information regarding the game-play and you can check out the translations here if you wish.

Remember to set it to 720p & above for HD.

Oh yar. That lady dropping from the sky with extravagant armour is not Stella.

Manga-Talk: Starry☆Sky ~After Season~ Manga

I was wondering whether I should slot this post into a new Mushroom Manga post or maybe a review post, but well – this was originally meant to be on our weekly one-shot feature.

I was quite optimistic that arawr(she’s disappeared somewhere I don’t know what happen to her) & I wouldn’t have to give much thought about this week’s one-shot as I was planning to go ahead with choosing one out of Starry Sky ~After Season~’s anthology. I left the whole thing until last night and well, after actually reading the Starry Sky ~After Season~ one-shots, let’s just say it won’t be on our weekly one-shot feature. Instead, I’ll share some short views via this edition of posts instead! Continue reading

Starry☆Sky~in Spring~ | Otome Game

Starry Sky Series

Starry☆Sky~in Spring~

Platform: PC & PSP

Company: HoneyBee

Genre: Otome, visual novel, shoujo games, slice of life

Official Website

There’s a lot of hype lately about the Starry Sky franchise, I can certainly feel it in the tumblr-sphere and it’s been circulating like mad. Released in 2009 by Honey-Bee, Starry☆Sky~in Spring~ is the first game followed by summer, autumn, winter. It now has further expansions like ‘after spring’ and well, I’m almost thoroughly confused. In this post I’ll attempt to cover Starry Sky in a general manner as well as focusing the ‘In Spring~’ game. This will also be M.Weekend’s first proper game related post. Hurrah!

First of all, I think Starry Sky boomed in the english-speaking world when the anime came out. The story, for an otome series is frankly, to me, quite sweet and absolutely perfect for it’s genre. Starry Sky focuses on a harem of one girl(who’s called Tsukiko Yahisa, but you can change her name)and 12 guys with each guy’s personality representing the 12 members of the Western Zodiac. It’s a neat idea to have the otome game player to seek out their love interests via zodiac personalities, it very reminiscent of Fruits Basket which uses the Chinese zodiac. It’s called Starry Sky because of the zodiac constellation theme(i assume) and the fact that everyone attends an Astronomy school which was formally only for boys(hence only one girl, you, da playa).

Each game season you get three love interests. Allow me to introduce to you formally the men of the ‘in spring~’ version. From right to left: Yoh Tomoe(capricorn), Kanata Nanami(pisces) and Suzuya Tohzuki(cancer):

Random-topic: Knights of the Crystals

For the past 3 days I’ve been obsessed with a Facebook game called Knights of the Crystals by Square Enix. One of my friends called me lame but I was all like ‘woe/evs I love this game.’ I actually started the game because  was just browsing through the FFXIII website and voi-la. I love Square Enix, so there you go. Did I mention I got arawr addicted as well.

It’s almost like Mafia Wars if you ever played it, I have no idea what Mafia Wars is like since I never played it, I just quoted that from somewhere I’ve already forgotten. You level up, get cool items and invite friends to become stronger then you can fight these random people on FB. It’s just like Haymore over here who whacked me 6 times consecutively, no offence if you’re Haymore & you’re reading this. It’s not like I’m going to go after you or anything, but that’s a whole different story…

Like all FB games, they’re designed to earn some dosh, and for the first time in my disgraceful life I decided to spend 6 quid on some Square Enix coins and I wasted it on a silver box, hoping to get some awesome item but I got something ‘common’ instead. How common.

This should be at the beginning of this arc of the post but it’s too much trouble re-arranging the pictures. You go on quests, which you basically don’t do anything but just press accept.
